The words “great meeting destination” should be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Boise! Boise is clean, affordable and packed with quality restaurants, entertainment, shopping and attractions.
Boise is perfectly suited to host groups ranging in size from 50 to 500, but can comfortably accommodate meetings of up to 2,000. With several Fortune 500 companies headquartered here, the city continues to attract meetings. Boise is Idaho’s capital and home to Boise State University, making it an excellent choice for government and education meetings.
Downtown’s Boise Centre has more than 50,000 square feet of meeting and exhibit space, and Qwest Arena has a 5,000-seat arena and can host trade shows needing 25,000 square feet. Boise State University has more than 40,000 square feet of meeting space.
Boise boasts affordability with first-class rooms, top-notch entertainment and dining for less than in other convention cities. Average room rates are about $95. There are 6,000 rooms in the city; 800 are within walking distance of the convention center.
Hotels with meeting space are plentiful and there are many non-traditional sites suitable for off-site events, including the historic Boise Depot, World Sports Humanitarian Hall of Fame, Bogus Creek Ranch and the Idaho Historical Museum. A Basque-themed street party on the Basque Block with Basque food, wine and entertainment is popular among groups. Bogus Basin Ski Resort can also host groups in the off-season.
Traveling to Boise is easy. Delta, United, Horizon, Alaska, Skywest, Northwest, Southwest, USAir and Frontier airlines offer daily service. This accessibility encourages groups to offer pre- and post-convention activities so attendees can take advantage of Boise’s proximity to excellent outdoor recreation. The Boise River flows through downtown enhancing the 25-mile Greenbelt path system, connecting five major parks and giving walkers, runners, bikers and skaters plenty of territory to explore. Exciting whitewater rafting, just 45 minutes away on the Payette River, can be combined with dinner along the riverbank for the perfect off-site group activity. In the winter, Bogus Basin Ski Resort offers skiing day and night and miles of scenic cross-country trails. The moderate spring climate allows for an afternoon tee-time on one of 17 area courses and an evening of skiing excitement.
When considering your next meeting destination, consider Boise!
