With 35 flexible spaces accommodating up to 14,000 delegates, Hampton’s 344,000-square-foot Hampton Roads Convention Center is a state-of-the-art facility for meetings, formal galas, conventions and trade and consumer shows. The building boasts 160,000 square feet of meeting and exhibit space, including a 108,000-square-foot exhibit hall that can be divided into three independent spaces. The 28,000-square-foot ballroom can accommodate groups of up to 2,000 people for banquets and can be configured into seven individual function spaces.
Sharing the campus, the 84,000-square-foot Hampton Coliseum arena features seating for 11,000 people, and a 295-suite Embassy Suites Hotel is connected to the convention center by covered walkway. There are 3,100 hotel rooms located within one mile of the convention center, and a total of 3,500 rooms citywide.
Hampton specializes in unique venues that celebrate each event and occasion.
The Hampton History Museum’s 10 galleries provide an intimate reception and meeting site, along with exhibits tracing Hampton’s unique history. The Virginia Air & Space Center can accommodate a reception for groups of up to 1,000 people in its awesome galleries featuring suspended aircraft and hands-on simulators. The Hampton University campus presents the Hampton University Museum and the university Convocation Center, providing yet another large venue for group events. The Boo Williams Sports-plex, a $13.5-million athletic venue, opened in Hampton last year.
