August 2010: Convention Bureaus

Janet Kersey has been named president and CEO of the Daytona Beach Area (Florida) Convention & Visitors Bureau. Kersey was previously the bureau’s executive vice-president and chief operating officer. She succeeds Sharon Mock.

Monica Smith has been named president and CEO of the Macon-Bibb County (Georgia) Convention & Visitors Bureau. Smith worked previously as director of sales and client services for the Pasadena (California) Convention & Visitors Bureau. She succeeds Janice Marshall, who recently retired. 

The Cincinnati USA Convention & Visitors Bureau has named Randy Parker director of sales. Parker was vice-president of sales at Nationwide Meetings. He also formerly served as director of sales for hotels that include the Fairmont/Dallas and the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson.

At the Greater Houston Convention & Visitors Bureau, John Hyland has been named managing director for the Eastern region. He was most recently director of sales and marketing for the Hyatt Hotels Worldwide Sales Office in Washington, D.C.

Lina Cantillo has been appointed regional director of national accounts at NYC & Company, New York City’s marketing and tourism organization. Cantillo has more than 14 years of experience in New York City hotel sales.
