Dottie Gallagher-Cohen has been named president and CEO of the Buffalo Niagara (New York) Convention & Visitors Bureau. Gallagher-Cohen served most recently as senior vice-president of The Buffalo News, where she worked for 13 years. She succeeds Richard Geiger, who led the Buffalo Niagara bureau for 14 years and was recently appointed the head of Visit Winston-Salem (North Carolina). The Jackson-Madison County (Tennessee) Convention & Visitors Bureau has named Lori Nunnery executive director. Nunnery previously worked as project manager for the Jackson Downtown Development Corporation. She succeeds Colleen Coury, who is now executive director of the Sumner County (Tennessee) Convention & Visitors Bureau. Richard Goldman has been named executive director of the St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra & The Beaches (Florida) Visitors & Convention Bureau. Goldman, who serves on the executive board for Visit Florida and is immediate vice-chair of the Florida Commission on Tourism, was most recently senior vice-president and chief marketing officer of Florida’s Amelia Island Plantation Resort. The St. Louis Convention & Visitors Commission has appointed Nicholas Langella as senior vice-president and general manager of the city’s America’s Center. Langella was previously senior vice-president of arena business and operations at the TD Garden in Boston. The Wilmington/Cape Fear Coast (North Carolina) Convention & Visitors Bureau has made two new appointments. Shawn Braden has been appointed executive vice-president of marketing. Braden, previously a sales and marketing consultant, has served in senior-level sales and marketing-management positions at the Greater Raleigh Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Lexington (Kentucky) Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau. And John Sneed has been appointed convention sales manager of the Wilmington Convention Center, expected to open this fall. Sneed’s sales background includes positions at the Clarion Hotel Airport in Greensboro and the High Point Convention & Visitors Bureau, both in North Carolina. In the Caribbean, the St. Lucia Tourist Board has appointed Nerdin St. Rose to the new position of vice-president of marketing and sales. St. Rose worked previously for Bornewell Marketing Ltd., a marketing and public relations firm she founded in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Larry Kaufman has been appointed vice-president of sales at the San Diego North Convention & Visitors Bureau. He spent the past six years as area director of sales and marketing for three Southern California properties: the Paradise Point Resort & Spa and the Hilton San Diego Resort & Spa, both in San Diego, and the Palm Springs Riviera Resort & Spa, in Palm Springs. The Bryan-College Station (Texas) Convention & Visitors Bureau has named Kindra Fry director of group sales. Fry was previously the bureau’s director of sports; her position has been expanded to include convention sales.
