May 2010: And Finally…

E-mail
Off the coast of Northeast Florida, Amelia Island has launched what it calls its Geocaching Challenge as a fun way of familiarizing visitors with the area. Upon check-in at any of the island’s eight participating hotels, attendees can begin the adventure using a handheld GPS device and a set of coordinates that will help track down six geocaches, or hidden containers, placed in various locations around the 13-mile-long island. The geocaches contain coupons and other discounts guests can use during their visit to the island, and the experience enters them in a drawing for a four-night stay at a local inn.
