•    Association Executives of North Carolina has awarded its 2010–2011 scholarships, designed to promote education in the field of association management. Winners include Alyssa Barkley, of the North Carolina Restaurant & Lodging Association; Cathy Kerr, of the American Society of Echocardiography; Kristin Miller, of the North Carolina Association of Realtors; and Ashley Trantham, of the North Carolina Nurses Association. Upcoming events scheduled for Association Executives of North Carolina include the Speakers Showcase and membership luncheon on November 10 at the Hilton/North Raleigh–Midtown and the 29th annual Trade Show on December 9 at the new Raleigh Convention Center.

•    Rachel Bowen Pittman has been named director of member services for the American Urological Association, based in Linthicum, Maryland. Pittman previously worked for the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society in Rockville, Maryland. Before that, she was an associate director for the international law section of the American Bar Association.

•    The California Society of Association Executives is scheduled to hold its annual Seasonal Spectacular on December 8 at the Sacramento Convention Center.
