Marc Anderson has been promoted to executive vice-president of Choose Chicago, where he most recently served as chief sales officer. In his new role, Anderson will continue his oversight and direction of the organization’s convention sales team.
“I could not be more pleased to have Marc on our team,” said Choose Chicago President and CEO David Whitaker. “His contributions prior to my arrival are significant. As our new executive vice-president, Marc will take on additional responsibilities representing Choose Chicago with some of our most important partners and constituents, as well as internally helping me ensure a fully integrated approach for our sales and marketing efforts.”
A 24-year industry veteran, Anderson worked for Choose Chicago from 2002 to 2007 when it was formerly known as the Chicago Convention & Tourism Bureau. After ending his tenure as assistant vice-president of sales, Anderson served as regional director of marketing at the Hong Kong–based The Peninsula Hotels before returning to Choose Chicago in 2015.
“I am incredibly thrilled by this new role and the added responsibilities,” Anderson said. “I am a life-long Chicagoan and wholeheartedly believe the best is to come for our fantastic city.”
