Karen Totaro Named Senior Vice-President and General Manager of the San Diego Convention Center Corporation
Karen Totaro has been appointed senior vice-president and general manager of the San Diego Convention Center Corporation, which was created by the city of San Diego to manage, market and operate the waterfront facility. Totaro will begin her new role on September 30.
Totaro most recently served as general manager of the Atlantic City Convention Center in New Jersey. Before that, she served as assistant general manager of the Duke Energy Convention Center in Cincinnati. Totaro also has experience as assistant executive director at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland and associate director at the University of Dayton Arena in Ohio.
“We are excited to have someone of Karen’s standards and qualifications join us here at the San Diego Convention Center,” said Clifford “Rip” Rippetoe, president and CEO of the San Diego Convention Center Corporation. “We look forward to welcoming her to a facility whose purpose is to be the premiere gathering place located at the heart of a world-class destination.”
