The JW Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort has opened on Marco Island in Florida. Formerly the Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort, Golf Club & Spa, the 726-room resort underwent an extensive $320 million renovation as part of its upgrade to a JW Marriott property. The project included a transformation of the guest rooms and culinary offerings, an expansion of the pool decks and the addition of a new porte-cochere and grand front entrance.
Still under construction at the resort is a new 94-room adults-only tower, which will offer its own rooftop pool, restaurant and 12,000-square-foot entertainment center. Upon its scheduled completion in fall of 2017, the resort will offer a total of 810 guest rooms and 100,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
“JW Marriott Marco Island is an optimal addition to our brand’s global portfolio,” said Mitzi Gaskins, vice-president of luxury brand management for Marriott International. “We look forward to offering guests a distinctive and enriching luxury experience set on three miles of pristine white sand beach on the Gulf of Mexico.”
